FRAMEWARD has no library account, cloud sync, advertising or analytics SDK. Online maps, forecasts, downloads and voluntary support requests use the services described here.

Your Spots, coordinates, photographs, notes, collections, Trips and Gear are stored in a database on your Mac. FRAMEWARD does not upload this library to its servers. There is no automatic crash-report service. Your data remains until you remove it. Backups and exports go to locations you choose; deleting an item in the app does not remove previously exported copies.
GPX, KML and KMZ imports are processed on your Mac. You preview an import before saving it. Available descriptions, groups and associated photographs may become part of your local library. When an imported file links to a remote image, downloading it contacts the image host. That host receives the requested URL and connection information, including your IP address, under its own privacy practices. Embedded images need no such request. FRAMEWARD does not search for replacement photographs.
Online maps use Apple Maps. Apple receives the visible map area. Spot names remain on your Mac. The native map bridge uses them only for local VoiceOver accessibility labels; FRAMEWARD does not send them to Apple Maps. Notes, photographs and local file paths are not passed to the native map bridge. Sensitive Spots are excluded unless you explicitly include them for the session.
Offline maps read files stored on your Mac. Downloading a world overview or a region contacts maps.frameward.app, hosted on Cloudflare R2. A regional download requests parts of a map file and can reveal the broad area requested. Sensitive Spots are excluded when deriving the suggested region while the sensitive-Spots control is off. Downloaded maps remain until you remove them.
Requesting Apple Weather sends the selected Spot’s shooting coordinates to Apple’s WeatherKit service. A sensitive Spot requires a one-use confirmation. Forecast responses are held in a limited memory cache, expire according to Apple’s expiry time and are discarded when the app quits. They are not stored in your library or backups. A local file keeps numeric usage counters, without coordinates or forecast content.
The Complete conditions field downloads signed model manifests and regional forecast files from field.frameward.app, served from a Hetzner server in Helsinki, Finland. Requests identify the model, forecast block, run and time step. Spot names, notes and precise coordinates are not sent; your Mac matches the Spot to the model cell. A requested block can reveal the broad area viewed. Sensitive-Spot checks use already-held files and do not request a missing file on that Spot’s behalf. Cached model files can remain on your Mac for offline use. Apple Weather is separate from these calculated photographic scores.
Online services necessarily receive connection information such as IP addresses, requested resources and request timing. Cloudflare and Hetzner provide the infrastructure for map and model downloads. Technical and security records may be retained to operate the services, investigate failures and prevent abuse. Cloudflare also provides traffic statistics, such as request totals and approximate countries or regions derived from IP addresses. We use these service-level statistics to understand network usage and capacity; the app has no analytics SDK recording your library activity. Connection and security records may include IP addresses, so we do not describe all technical data as anonymous. Our forecast file server has no HTTP access log enabled. System error and security logging is separate and uses the server’s rotation and storage limits; this is not a promise that no technical data is retained.
Providers also apply their own retention and security practices. Cloudflare uses a global network, so technical data may be processed outside Switzerland or the European Economic Area, including in the United States. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy, Hetzner’s privacy policy and Apple’s privacy policy. FRAMEWARD does not use these requests for advertising or sell your personal information.
Apple handles payment and restoration through the Mac App Store and StoreKit. FRAMEWARD does not receive payment-card details. The app checks your entitlement with Apple and keeps a local access-level cache for offline use. Refunds and revoked purchases may change that entitlement. There is no FRAMEWARD purchase-verification server.
Report a problem prepares a limited diagnostic report for you to inspect, copy or send through your email app. Nothing is emailed automatically. The generated report omits library contents, precise coordinates and local paths. Text or attachments you add yourself are voluntary.
Email sent to hello@frameward.app is routed through Cloudflare Email Routing to the operator’s Gmail, provided by Google. We use your email address, any sender name you provide, your message and any attachments to answer your request. Support emails and attachments are deleted within 12 months after the request is closed, except where retention is legally required. You may request earlier deletion at the same address. Google and Cloudflare may process email outside Switzerland or the EEA; see Google’s privacy policy.
External links show their destination for confirmation before opening. Once opened, the destination’s privacy practices apply.
You can use your local library and downloaded maps offline, decide when to request weather, control sensitive Spots, export data and remove local data. FRAMEWARD cannot retrieve or delete your local library remotely. For information held by us, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability where applicable, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or withdraw consent for optional processing. Contact hello@frameward.app. You may also complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner or your competent data protection authority.
We process requests needed to provide the features you choose and to perform our contract with you. Operational security and troubleshooting rely on our legitimate interests in a reliable, secure service, subject to applicable law; optional information you submit is handled for the purpose you requested. Information required by law may be retained for the applicable legal period. Material changes will be reflected in this notice and its update date.
